A new report on neighbourhoods in England from the Joseph Rowntree Foundation discusses how community spaces, groups and organisations are essential for nurturing connected, confident and in-control communities. Th report notes that 'social infrastructure’ supports economically secure and resilient communities, and that a 'bold offer' for community spaces, groups and activities is needed to reverse decline.
New global research on the challenges facing charities and third sector organisations
Data from the Charities Aid Foundation’s World Giving Report highlights that funding pressures, rising demand, shrinking civic spaces, pressure on workforces and digital transformation are just some of the many factors that characterise the challenging operating environment. The findings will paint a picture familiar to organisations across Scotland, reflecting on a global scale the findings from SCVO's recent State of the Sector report.
