GDA's Manifesto for a Fairer Scotland for Disabled People
Glasgow Disability Alliance has published its Manifesto for a Fairer Scotland for Disabled People. Developed in a highly participative way with their members, the Manifesto sets out five key asks for all candidates running for election to ensure disabled people in Scotland have the same freedom and opportunity as non-disabled people.
Improved data around Scottish child poverty reduction targets
The Department for Work and Pensions has improved the income data used to measure poverty in the UK, which affects the Scottish Parliament’s child poverty reduction targets and what can be said about child poverty in Scotland. In this piece, JRF outlines these changes and how they show that using the new, more accurate data, the Scottish Government met the interim child poverty reduction target of 18% in 2023/24.
Smoking stats by Scotland's local councils
ASH Scotland has brought together statistics regarding smoking for each local authority, alongside Scotland's national figures for comparison. These statistical profiles were published in March 2026 using data from a range of sources to provide a 'snapshot' of local smoking rates, demonstrating the inequalities between different areas.
