CHEX Conference 2026: Meet our keynote listeners

This article was featured in the SCDC Weekly - 18th February 2026

How do we ensure that policy is informed by the knowledge, skills and experience of the people and organisations in our communities?

Participants at the national CHEX conference next week will be discussing this question, focusing on the urgent need to move beyond policy ambition and into reality.

This year’s conference follows the publication of a joint statement on the role prevention plays in tackling Scotland’s growing health inequalities crisis and the need to put prevention approaches at the centre of not just policy, but practice.

The conference will host three keynote listeners: Ruth Glassborow from Public Health Scotland, Donna McLeod from the Scottish Government's Population Health Directorate and Kat Smith, Professor of Public Health Policy at the University of Strathclyde.

The listeners will hear delegates' experiences and insights and work with the CHEX team to ensure that the network's collective knowledge and experience is better understood and fed into work at the national level.

Last few places: 26th February, The Barracks Conference Centre in Stirling
