Wealth Building & Democratic Participation Workshop - 15 Sept

Wealth Building & Democratic Participation Workshop: Power, Participation and Prosperity: Shaping Scotland's Future Together

Tuesday 15 September 6.30 to 8.30pm

This interactive online workshop will explore what new developments around Community Wealth Building and Democracy Matters mean for communities, practitioners and organisations across Scotland.

Scotland is experiencing a growing shift towards community-led development, democratic renewal and local empowerment. Two key developments driving this change are Democracy Matters and Community Wealth Building (CWB).

Democracy Matters focuses on how power and decision-making can be shared more effectively with communities, while Community Wealth Building aims to ensure communities have greater influence over their local economies and benefit more from the wealth they help create.

Through expert input and discussion, participants will consider how these emerging agendas might influence their work and contribute to tackling inequality, strengthening local democracy, supporting place-based approaches and increasing community participation.
