CHEX training: Prevention in action through community-led approaches
/This article was featured in the SCDC Weekly - 8th July 2026
This rare open one-day training course will explore the vital role community-led health plays in Scotland’s drive to embed prevention at the heart of health and wellbeing policy.
The Population Health Framework, Public Service Reform agenda, and the Health and Social Care Renewal Framework all clearly make prevention a priority - and a necessity - in how we deliver public services.
Community-led approaches to health are key to developing this policy agenda in a sustainable and an effective way that we know makes real positive change happen across our communities.
Delivered by experienced community development practitioners and facilitators, this training will answer key questions around the strategic policy of health and wellbeing, and the impact of health inequalities across Scotland's communities.
The training will also explore the role agencies play in working alongside communities to build health and wellbeing, and the practical resources available to support this work.
