Webinar video: Understanding payments and participation

The Scottish Co-production Network supports people to come together to learn from each other on all things co-pro and participation.

One big topic with network members right now is how we value participation, especially when people are sharing their lived and living experience or expertise.

It’s an issue that comes up across different contexts, with increasingly complex questions emerging around how people should (or are able to) be paid, how much is appropriate, and the impact of payments on volunteering.

A recent webinar, with a recording and slides now available, explored this issue, and enabled participants to ask questions and share their experiences.

A new blog also sets out the case for payments, the importance of recognising contributions, and some of the issues and tensions that can arise.

As part of this work, the Network is looking to bring people together to discuss these questions further through a short-term working group on valuing participation. Anyone interested should get in touch.
