Sharing learning across Europe about social innovation

Scottish Community Development Centre is working in partnership on an EU Funded project involving citizens, social enterprises and organisations from the third and public sectors in developing and promoting innovative solutions to societal challenges.

The project will share learning across 4 broad areas:

  •  Social innovation in relation to welfare services

  •  New ways of engaging citizens in democracy and decision making, e.g. participatory budgeting

  •  Promoting environmentally-friendly neighbourhoods and a 'green inclusive economy'

  •  Partnership between voluntary and community sectors and the private sector, around issues such as social responsibility.

As part of the project, SCDC will be attending a mini-conference in Santiago de Compostela, Spain at the end of October. This will focus on the 2nd of the above areas - participation. We will be joined by a representative from Money for Moray, a community-led PB initiative in Moray.

There will also be a Glasgow event early next year, which we will keep our networks updated about.
