The Cost of Cuts’ - The impact of cuts to local carer organisations
This article explores how local carer organisations in Scotland are facing a perfect storm: rising operational costs; insecure and insufficient core funding; and a growing number of unpaid carers on the verge of crisis. This has resulted in a sector which is doing its best with the resources it has but is stretched to its limits.
Children's Rights & UNCRC - 11 September 2025
This training session will give an introduction to United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) and children's rights. Attendees will learn about the policy and legislative background of the UNCRC and its incorporation into Scots Law. There will be opportunity for reflection on your own practice and to plan your next steps.
Mandatory community benefit consultation
This UK Government consultation seeks views around potential mandatory community benefits scheme for low carbon energy infrastructure and the facilitation of shared ownership for renewable generation infrastructure. Currently, community benefit schemes are voluntary, with the Scottish Government recently holding a consultation on the good practice guidance that informs how they operate in Scotland.
