Human rights and community development conference, 11 Sept 2018

This free event will bring together community development practitioners, paid and unpaid, to discuss the importance of human right-based approaches in their work.

Save the date: Tuesday, 11th September, Glasgow

Human rights are at the core of community development. Communities who understand human rights can use that knowledge to hold duty bearers to account and make positive change.

To make sure this happens, community development practitioners need to be confident and skilled in a human right-based approaches, using them to analyse, understand and improve their practice.

Delivered jointly by the Scottish Human Rights CommissionEdinburgh Tenants Federation and the Scottish Community Development Centre, this one-day conference will:

  • Bring people together to share ideas and practice from Scotland and beyond.

  • Explore what skills, tools and resources are required to support this approach.

  • Start planning how we co-produce this support together as a community of practice.

We'll be offering places for this event soon. In the meantime, save the date in your diary and join our conference mailing list to hear the latest.
