Supporting good community engagement

Strong community organisations have their community's needs and priorities at the heart of their decision-making.

Discussing what matters to them and how you can do something about it gives your community a chance to be involved in your organisation and to get their views heard.

Module 3 of Building Stronger Community Organisations explores the vital role community engagement plays in planning, delivering and evaluating activity.

This module includes a Community Conversations Plan setting out how you can use the National Standards for Community Engagement to help deliver your work.

Developed by the Scottish Refugee Council and SCDC, the resources have a focus on refugee communities and refugee-supporting groups, but will be useful for all types of community organisations.

The free online toolkit takes community organisations through 10 modules, designed to explore the key things to consider and important actions to take to build strong and engaged community organisations.
