Join us for an ‘All Our Rights in Law’ online conversation
/Thursday 3rd December 2020
2.00pm – 3.30pm
What’s it all about
A National Taskforce is putting together recommendations to the Scottish Government for a new human rights Act. This will build on existing human rights laws to strengthen how all our rights are protected.
This new law might include rights like these economic, social and cultural rights:
The right to adequate, accessible and affordable food
The right to adequate housing
The right to the highest level possible of physical and mental health
The right to a social security safety net
The right to take part in cultural life
The right to a healthy environment
It could also include specific rights for disabled people, women, black and minority ethnic people, older people and LGBTI people.
About the conversation
We would love for you to join us on Thursday 3rd December to share your views about the new human rights Act in Scotland, what needs to be in it and how it should be put into practice.
At the event we will collect your views and share them with the National Taskforce to help inform the final recommendations.
We have reached full capacity for this event.
We’ll confirm places on Thursday 26th November. Contact sarahjane@scdc.org.uk for further info.
