What we're reading
Challenge Poverty Week 2026
This week is Challenge Poverty Week, and each year we join The Poverty Alliance and thousands of others to raise our collective voice against poverty and unite in calling for a more just and equal Scotland. The Poverty Alliance has a series of events running and is publishing blogs throughout the week, with Friday focusing on the role that communities and volunteers can play in tackling poverty.
Community blueprint consultation events
What should a new democratic decision-making model look like in Scotland? SCA has been working with a range of partners on a new blueprint that sets out a proposed model, reflecting recent proposals around local governance reorganisation. They will be sharing more about this model at three consultation events: Thursday 8th October, Friday 9th October, and Thursday 22nd October.
Embedding anti-racist approaches in adult learning
Learning Link Scotland has received funding from The National Lottery to launch a new project to help adult learning practitioners use anti-racist approaches in community-based adult learning. This project will help adult learning tutors across Scotland build the confidence, skills and resources they need to use anti-racist approaches in their work. An online information session is taking place on 9th Oct, 10-11am.
