Inequality, disadvantage and shaping public services - workshops in Falkirk, South Ayrshire and Clackmannanshire

Note - the South Ayshire workshop on the 19th March is now Cancelled

Would you like to find out about a way for groups to start a discussion with decision makers about improving public services? Participation requests are part of the The Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act. Over the last two years, community groups across Scotland have been making them to public bodies such as local authorities and health boards.

In March 2020, SCDC is delivering workshops in Falkirk, South Ayrshire and Clackmannanshire which will help you to:

  • understand what participation requests are

  • think about whether they are a good approach for you to take

  • learn how to make one

  • know more about working with others to improve public services

The workshop will be particularly relevant to community groups with protected characteristics or who are experiencing poverty, as well as anyone who supports or works with these groups.

Details of the workshops and how to book are as follows:

  • Thursday 12th March, 12:30 - 16:00, Forth Valley Sensory Centre, Camelon hosted by CVS Falkirk Book a place

  • Thursday 19th March, 10:00 - 13:00, Carlton Hotel, Prestwick Road, Ayr hosted by Voluntary Action South Ayrshire - cancelled
