Join the Health Issues in the Community team to share good practice, learn from real examples, and find out more about its lasting impact in communities.
Health Issues in the Community (HIIC) is a course that helps people understand what affects their health and the health of their communities. With community development at its core, HIIC supports individuals to work collectively, with a focus on participatory democracy, social justice, and equity.
This in-person event will explore how HIIC is used to spark a healthier future for people by taking action on what is important to them. You'll have a chance to hear from HIIC tutors and participants, and understand how you could use HIIC in your area.
Through an interactive programme you’ll see the impact HIIC can have: from enabling intergenerational work between groups in Castlemilk, to supporting young people to investigate and take action on poverty through a BAFTA-shortlisted documentary – plus many more rich examples.
There will also be time to simply catch up with one another and share professional learning. You'll come away with new connections and understanding about the work that makes Health Issues In the Community such a long-standing and successful programme.
