Glasgow Disability Alliance have shared a new article detailing their members' work campaigning against cuts to disability benefits proposed by the UK Government, and their discussions with Glasgow MPs about how they voted on the Bill.
How can public diners impact health inequalities?
A new 3-year project will explore the role that public diners play in reducing health inequalities. Public diners are state-supported restaurants and, at their peak in the mid-20th century, there were more than 2,000 public diners in the UK. Nourish Scotland will run two test sites in Dundee and Nottingham to understand the impact they can have on people's health and wellbeing.
Votes for 16-year olds and other changes in UK democracy strategy
The UK Government has published proposals that would see 16 year-olds able to vote in UK General Elections, mirroring voting ages in Scottish and Welsh elections. Other changes include expanding the types ID that can be used to vote and developing an automated voter registration system.
