Income(ing) call - participants wanted for research into income-based policies and health

In the UK, there are big differences in the health of people living in rich and poor areas and between people from different walks of life. One way to reduce this health divide is to make sure people have a decent income.

Currently missing from policy and media debates is what the public think about this issue. A team of researchers from 3 UK universities, led by Glasgow Caledonian University, are interested in what the public think about different income-based policies that impact on health.

For this, they are looking for people to take part in:

Online General Public Panel: To aid the design of the project. First meeting in Summer 2023, two in Autumn 2023, and one in early 2024. Incentive: £150 per meeting (4 meetings in total). The expectation is that participants will attend all four meetings. (Scottish Community Development Centre will be delivering some training to the panel).

In-Person Focus Groups: To test and discuss survey questions. Held in Glasgow and Newcastle in Autumn 2023. Incentive: £50.

In-Person Interviews: To try out survey questions and discuss answers with a project researcher. Held in Glasgow or Newcastle in Autumn and Winter 2023. Incentive: £30.
