Mapping participation requests one year on

Thanks to those who have already completed our participation request survey.

We're still looking for more responses so please consider completing this short questionnaire on participation requests, even if, before reading this, you had never heard of them!

We would like community groups and organisations to tell us about their experience of participation requests so far.

Participation requests are a new way for community groups and organisations to have their voices heard in the planning and delivery of services. The right to make a participation request to a public body was introduced as part of the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act, and came into effect on the 1st April 2017.

Please take 5 minutes to answer some questions about your experience of participation requests. This will help to build a picture of how participation requests are being used across Scotland and provide information on what else might be needed to ensure that the legislation works as intended. SCDC will shortly be producing a briefing  highlighting learning so far, so this is your chance to suggest anything we haven't thought of.

** Update (Apr 2022): Please see SCDC’s Participation Request Resource Pack for more on participation requests and improving participation in public services more generally **
