Take a look at participatory budgeting in South Lanarkshire

In January 2016, South Lanarkshire Council and partners organised PB events in four locations in South Lanarkshire which took place across two days.

The events allowed local people to decide how best to spend money on facilities and activities for young people. PB Scotland reports from one of the events, held in Springhall Community Centre.

Participants and partners behind the initiative, which included Youth Trust, Universal Connections, Healthy & Happy Community Development Trust and Community Links South Lanarkshire, all agreed that PB was a meaningful process that would promote participatory democracy.

Get your PB activity on the PB Scotland website

PB Scotland is looking to cover 6-8 future PB initiatives, capturing the enthusiasm, innovation and learning and sharing it on the website. We want to attend any live events, interview people involved and record the process using written, audio-visual and social media. This will be brought together on the PB Scotland website to provide an attractive, informative account of the PB process. We may also be able to write up previous PB activity.

To get in touch you can email Andrew Paterson / Sam Jordan at info@pbscotland.scot or call 0141 248 1924. From there we can discuss the best way to record your PB activity.
