Online event: Lessons from co-creating the fourth Open Government Action Plan

Join the SCDC and Scotland’s Open Government Team to explore Scotland’s approach to its fourth Open Government Action Plan.

Open government is a global movement centred around people coming together to explore how the relationship between communities and government can be more open, participatory, inclusive, and accountable.

SCDC has supported this latest co-creation process, working with partners to hear community perspectives around trust in government. We also worked to bring together third and public sector colleagues to discuss the themes of the next Open Government Action Plan.

Held during Open Government Week, this event will be a chance to learn about the design and delivery of the co-creation process, as colleagues reflect on engaging with equalities and lived experience organisations, and wider civil society.

We will also hear from Scotland’s Civil Society Chair and Scottish Government’s Open Government team about their vision for Action Plan 2026 - 2030.

Creating Hope Together 2025-26 - sign up for training and shared learning session

We’re delighted to invite you to a face-to-face training and shared learning session for the Creating Hope Together community-led action research programme, which will take place on Wednesday 29th April (10am-3pm) at The Studio in Glasgow.

Our current plan is for the day to begin with an engaging session on analysis (specifically thematic analysis (TA) of qualitiative interview data). You’ll get to try a bit of light TA and discuss how the approach might be useful for your research.

After lunch, provided by the Studio, the afternoon will then consist of a shared learning session where you’ll get to hear from one or two research projects from this year’s work and then share and learn from your own and other’s experiences and learning so far.
