Effective Community Engagement in the Park

Join the Steering Group

You're invited to become part of a Steering Group to advise on a project to implement an effective model of community engagement for the Cairngorms National Park.

Our initial meeting of the Steering Group will take place on Tuesday 7th June at 6.30 – 8.30pm (online).  We will meet online initially and from there agree the best format for future meetings.

SCDC has been commissioned to explore effective community engagement in the Park and we are inviting you to be involved either because of your knowledge of local community engagement, the Park community and your previous involvement in the Park’s activities or because you have not been directly engaged with the Park to date and are representing less heard groups in the Park area.

If this project is better suited for a colleague or you think there is someone else who should also be involved then please speak to Paul Nelis from SCDC (contact details below) about that contact.

The project will focus on 3 main activity areas over the next 12 months, these are:

  • reviewing existing community engagement methods/approaches;

  • co-designing new community engagement methods/approaches; and

  • developing ideas for new community engagement projects which will put these new methods/approaches into action.

If you need any more information about the project or have some questions about the proposed Steering Group then please speak to Paul Nelis, David Allan or Dawn Brown directly:

Paul - m: 07795 968 146
