Inch Cape Offshore Wind Farm is now under construction off the coast of Angus with its onshore substation located in Cockenzie on the site of the former power station.

While Inch Cape has an established fund for the construction phase of the project, there will also be a legacy community fund to mark its conclusion.

SCDC is delighted to be supporting Inch Cape by working with the communities of Port Seton, Cockenzie, and Prestonpans to shape the project’s post-construction community fund, due to open in 2027.

Local people know the area best, so this process is about listening carefully and helping the community influence how the fund should be shared across these communities.

Our aim is to make sure the process feels open, fair and useful to the community. By working together, we want the fund to be shaped by local knowledge, local experience and local voices. This is called co-design.
