West Dunbartonshire: Review of Community Council Support
Draft Scheme of Establishment for Community Councils - 3rd stage of public consultation
SCDC is supporting West Dunbartonshire Council to consult with local communities on a review of Community Councils, through preparation of a new Scheme for the Establishment of Community Councils.
You can find out more about the review here, including information on the three stages of public consultation involved.
In March 2022, the work reached the third stage of public consultation: publication of the final draft Scheme and Community Council boundary changes. This includes a main document and appendices including a Code of Conduct for Community Councillors, a model Constitution and Standing Orders for individual Community Councils, and Community Council boundaries. The Council is also preparing a new Handbook for Community Councils to accompany the new Scheme.
To see and comment on the final draft Scheme documents, please visit West Dunbartonshire Council’s Consultation Hub here during the consultation period (8th March to 5th April 2022).
The final version of the Scheme documents will then be prepared in the light of comments received, and presented to a special meeting of West Dunbartonshire Council for approval on 25 May 2022.
