Voluntary and Community Sector Advisory Group event
As part of the work of the Voluntary Sector Resilience Partnership (VSRP) and the Voluntary and Community Sector Advisory Group (VCSAG), we have been reviewing the membership and format both these groups should have, and what it needs to be fit for purpose.
This includes strengthening collaboration between categorised resilience responder agencies and the voluntary, community and faith sectors, empowering these sectors to be proactive partners in supporting communities to prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies, and ensuring they can effectively contribute alongside partners in both long-term resilience planning and fast-time emergency response contexts.
It is really important that we hear from the wider community and voluntary sector, and those involved in response and resilience to help us shape the future. This is why we are asking you to come to our event. We need your knowledge and insight to support us to get this right. Please do not share this invite more widely as we have curated the list to ensure a good balance across sectors and areas of work that support resilience.
Event details
The event will be on Friday, the 28th of August, in-person, at British Red Cross, 6 Redheughs Rigg, South Gyle, Edinburgh, EH12 9DQ from 10am – 4.30pm. We acknowledge that not everyone can make an in-person meeting in Edinburgh, but this is stage one of our engagement, and we will have further discussions online after the event.
We have a bursary to cover travel and participation for those from who may be attending as a volunteer, in an unwaged capacity, or from a small community and voluntary sector organisation with an income of less than £50K per year. Please highlight on the registration link if you wish to claim the bursary, and we will be in touch with further details.
We hope you can make it, and we look forward to working with you!
