Scottish Communities for Health and Wellbeing (SCHW) invites people who value the power of communities to connect and challenge to improve health and wellbeing across Scotland.

Our Even Bigger Get Together will:

  • Exchange our experiences of community-led health in action

  • Explore new evidence of how we can make a difference

  • Discuss and connect what we can do ourselves to create momentum and increase our impact

  • Challenge government, the NHS ourselves and others to move beyond rhetoric to collectively invest in and embed community-led action.

This free event will share insights from partners in our network, Glasgow Caledonian University, and the Scottish Governments Place and Wellbeing programme.  We will also explore national initiatives which we can relate to including the collaborative National Suicide Prevention Strategy, the Institute of Health Equality “Marmot Places”, the Scottish Government National Public Health Framework and share great practice from our SCHW organisations. We will have workshops which will provide platforms for active discussions on all of the above and the structures for securing community led health and wellbeing investment and improvement across Scotland.

We hope that the outcomes of our event will engage, support and interest community organisations, national and local decision makers and influence action that is connected up, challenges, and gets thing moving way beyond rhetoric and makes a big difference to the quality of life of many people throughout Scotland.

We have more places than the previous Big Get Together so we can offer two places to SCHW organisations. We hope that Board members, service users as well as staff members can take part for the whole event. Places are still fairly limited for this event so early booking is advised. We will let you know if you have a place by the middle of March.  Participants will be asked to select workshops following confirmation of a place.
