People and Nature: Learning through Doing (LtD)
People and Nature: Learning through Doing (LtD), was a programme funded by Scottish Natural Heritage to support community projects/groups to explore the barriers and enablers for people from disadvantaged communities in accessing nature and the outdoors.
SCDC and SNH worked with each group to look at the issues involved in carrying out their research and develop this into a Research Plan which the group could use for reference as their work progressed. On completing their research each group compiled a report which provides background on their organisation, how they had gone about their research, details of their key findings and importantly how they plan to use these findings to take forward the issues identified. A copy of each organisation's report and research plan is provided below.
SNH also produced a case study for each of the research projects involved in Learning through Doing, which summarises their research reports and provides a short explanation of Learning through Doing and of the Action Research approach used by the groups. A copy of each case study is also provided below.
