David loves working with communities as a development manager. He has particular expertise in participatory budgeting, community led health, community engagement and co-productive approaches to the relationship between citizens and government.
With many years’ experience of working directly with communities experiencing inequality, particularly refugees and asylum seekers, David Chairs Govan Community Project alongside New Scots and volunteers on local participatory budgeting steering groups and coaches a school football team.
Prior to working at SCDC David worked in the legal team of the Equality and Human Rights Commission and in a homelessness charity. He has an MSc in Public Policy and Research methods.
