Andrew Paterson (continued)

It is Andrew's job to update colleagues and community development practitioners of any policy developments and research that affect community development and communities in Scotland. He develops consultation responses and policy briefings and networks with those working within community development to ensure that SCDC and community development actively influence policy environment.

Much of Andrew's research work is centred on building the case for community development's central place in Scotland's public policy. He conducts case studies of community development approaches being used across Scotland, and has carried out evaluations of community development programmes by other organisations. Andrew is currently helping to monitor and evaluate SCDC's support package for community organisations, Supporting Communities, and will be developing evaluation reports and case studies as part of this work.

Andrew has a range of relevant experience from previous employment in the third sector, as well as his PhD in Sociology, awarded in November 2010 by Glasgow Caledonian University.
