It is Andrew's job to update colleagues and community development practitioners of any policy developments and research that affect community development and communities in Scotland. He also develops consultation responses, policy positions and networks with those working within community development to ensure that SCDC and community development actively influence policy environment. Much of Andrew's research work is centred on building the case for community development's central place in Scotland's public policy.
As Information and Communication officer Andrew compiles the fortnightly e-bulletin CHEX-Point Snippets. In addition, he helps to ensure effective outgoing and ingoing communication in relation to community development policy and practice in Scotland, and works to represent the SCDC vision for an active, just and inclusive Scotland.
Andrew has a range of relevant experience from previous employment in the third sector, as well as from his PhD in Sociology, awarded in November 2010 by Glasgow Caledonian University.
