Research into the Outcomes of Community Learning and Development (2006)

Client: Communities Scotland

In 2005 the Scottish Executive set up the Performance Information Project (PIP) for Community Learning and Development in order to support the development of improved information about CLD work at national and local levels. One aspect of this programme is to develop better shared understandings of the outcomes of CLD.  Draft frameworks of the expected outcomes of CLD practice were developed, in relation to the national priorities for CLD.  These frameworks were issued for consultation until 31 May 2006.  As part of this consultation the Scottish Community Development Centre, working jointly with Avante Consulting, was commissioned to consult a sample of groups of participants and users of CLD about the outcomes that they would expect from work in this area, using the draft frameworks as a starting point.
