LEAP Software tool (2009 - 2010)
Funder: Learning Connections and Standards Council for Community Learning and Development
In 2009, SCDC experimented with design of a software data-base package that would enable the Learning Evaluation and Planning (LEAP) framework to be used within a computer based recording system that could hold multiple records. The tool enabled individual workers and CLD teams to analyse the need for intervention, plan how it would be done, monitor progress and evaluate outcomes in line with the principles of practice set out in policy. In turn the accumulation of records enabled the system to be used as a source of management information and aggregate review of CLD programmes. Having itself developed the prototype tool, SCDC was then funded to test and further develop it with teams of practitioners.
