Review of the Community Development National Occupational Standards: PHASE 2 consultation

CDNOS report cover

SCDC has been working with the Federation for Community Development Learning (FCDL) which is leading partners from across the UK in the Review of the Community Development National Occupational Standards (CDNOS).

Following Phase 1 of the consultation, which involved comment from practitioners and a series of consultation events, including one in Scotland (held at Glasgow University) a writers group, which included two colleagues from Scotland together with others from across the UK, has worked with the FCDL to produce draft revised CDNOS.

Comments at the Phase 1 consultation event held in Glasgow, which was attended by practitioners from a wide variety of settings and locations, suggested that the Standards are relevant to practice in Scotland and that there is potential value in making greater use of them. Comments that the Standards should be made more concise and convey core messages more strongly were shared by others across the UK.

The draft revised Standards, which can be accessed at, are now open for consultation until Friday 12 December. To contribute comments on the draft, you should e-mail to get your individual link to the survey and brief information about how to fill it in.
