NHS Health Scotland – Non Executive Board Member – Interested?

NHS Health Scotland is recruiting for Non Executive Board members.  The Health Board especially welcome applications from people with experience of health inequalities and an in-depth understanding of communities experiencing poverty and poor health.

Board members are responsible for governance of the organisation and have a responsibility to formulate strategy, ensure accountability (including financial stewardship) and shape a healthy culture for the Board and the organisation.

Board members should have an ability to bring different perspectives, analyse and review complex information, eight up conflicting issues, make decisions and question and challenge information and people constructively.

Prior experience of being a board member is not required and training and support will be offered to develop skills and learn new skills.

It is a commitment of up to a 4 year period in the first instance with a contribution of around 8 hours a week for which £8,088 a year is remunerated.
