Empowered Communities Active Citizens workshops
Community Development in Europe: Shared Language, Shared Purpose, Collective Impact
Glasgow – 7th February 2013
Edinburgh – 14th February 2013
Dundee – 28th February 2013
(1pm - 4.30pm, venues to be confirmed)
As part of a pan European programme working to address the exclusion of marginalised communities through increased democratic participation, SCDC and other partners in Scotland are holding three national workshops with practitioners, community activists and policy makers to engage them in dialogue on current community development practice and how this can be developed and strengthened to enable us to collectively meet the challenges ahead. Workshop participants will be invited to discuss and debate the purpose of community development, its underpinning values, the outcomes it achieves and the tools and methodologies employed by community development practitioners and organisations in Scotland.
The programme will culminate in a trans-national workshop which will consider the views from each of the ten Bureau member countries, and seek to endorse a common framework for community development across Europe. The national workshops offer an opportunity for community development practitioners, policy makers and activists in Scotland to influence and shape the framework as it develops ….
If you would like to take part in this exciting debate and contribute towards the development of a common European framework for community development, please register for your preferred workshop below. Places are limited and please note that registration will close on 1st February 2013.
