Mapping and evaluating literacy provision Inverclyde

Client
Inverclyde Adult Literacies Partnership (2005)

In 2005 the Scottish Community Development Centre was commissioned tocarry out a reviewof theliteracy provision within the Inverclyde area. The review highlighted areas of good practice, identified gaps in provision and gathered feedback from literacy workers, volunteers, partner agencies and learners on how provision could be improved.  We adopted a thematic approach, targeting activity within the following areas:

  • Family Learning
  • Youth Literacy
  • Complex Needs
  • Workplace Literacy
  • Core Skills

The review specifically evaluated the activities and outcomes of the current literacy action plan in Inverclyde and was used to inform the development of the new literacy action plan submitted to the Scottish Executive in 2006.
