Kate McHendry


Kate has 17 years experience of working from a community development perspective in a variety of settings - research, voluntary sector/social economy, economic development, youth work, adult and further edcucation.  Past posts include: Project Manager for One Plus - One Parent Families, Mentoring Project; Case Manager - Healthy Return Research Project, University of Glasgow; Senior Training Officer, Greater Easterhouse Development Company.  Kate has substantial experience of community engagement with a particular emphasis on excluded people.  Since joining SCDC, Kate has written and managed the training and consultancy programme and participated in a number of consultancies.  Her current role in SCDC involves managing the capacity building aspect of the Scottish Community Action Research Fund, supporting community groups to carry out their own research, develop knowledge of their communities and improve skills and community capacity.
