Fiona Garven – Director 
Fiona was appointed Director of SCDC in November 2008 and took up the post in January 2009.  She is currently managing the transition process of SCDC becoming an independent charity and is responsible for the overall performance and management of the organisation.  Fiona's main activity focus within SCDC is community engagement.  She is currently working with team members on the contract to develop VOiCE and is working alongside Linked Work and Training Trust on the Better Community Engagement Training Programme. Stuart Hashagen – Senior Community Development Advisor (part-time)
Stuart is former Director and Co-Director of SCDC.  He is currently focusing on development work on community capacity building, on community development practice skills in rural areas, and is leading on community engagement in health issues within the Meeting the Shared Challenge programme. Within SCDC he co-ordinates the staff development, information and communications functions, and as honorary research fellow in Urban Studies, helps maintain the links with Glasgow University.  MORE 
 
Dr Alan Barr – Senior Research Fellow, Strathclyde Unversity
Alan was formerly Co-Director and now works part-time for SCDC.  He is currently primarily involved in the VOiCE development and dissemination programme and in work for the Improvement Service relating to community engagement in planning.  He is also doing training relating to community empowerment and the Duty to Involve communities in.  MORE
 
David Allan – Head of Programmes: Community Capacity and Engagement
David has broad responsibility for SCDC’s community capacity and community engagement programmes as well as the training and consultancy function.  Current examples of major programmes / contracts include: VOiCE (Visioning Outcomes in Community Engagement) which is a user-friendly database recording tool that guides participants through a logical set of steps to good engagement; development of a LEAP database tool; refreshing the CLD Competences in Scotland; and training around Community Engagement in Planning.  MORE
 
Jane Dailly – Head of Programmes: Research and Development
Jane oversees the research function of SCDC and is responsible for programmes and projects related to the development and communication of community development theory.  She currently manages the Meeting the Shared Challenge national support programme.  This programme is funded by Scottish Government and aims to support a shared understanding of, and strategic commitment to, a community-led approach to health improvement and addressing health inequalities.  MORE 
 
Janet Muir – Head of Programmes: Community-Led Health and Networking
Janet oversees the work of the Community Health Exchange (CHEX).  She is responsible for implementation of the CHEX business plan focussing on activities related to four key functions – influencing health policy, practice development on community-led health, promoting and supporting local community health networks and the provision of an information service.  Janet has a particular remit to take forward CHEX’s engagement within the health improvement policy arena.  Over the last two years, she has been active in implementing the Scottish Government’s recommendations on community-led health.  MORE 
 
Clare O’Neill – Head of Finance
Clare is responsible for all financial administration at SCDC, for financial reporting to the Director and the Board of Trustees, and manages all external financial services.
 
Robert Cuthbert – Development Manager
Robert's main role within CHEX is to oversee the development of the Health Issues in the Community training initiative - in particular, he is responsible for the promotion, strategic development and evaluation of HIIC along with tutor training, support and networking.  Robert's other key role within CHEX is in identifying training/learning needs within the sector and developing/delivering appropriate materials and courses as a consequence.  Robert also works on a number of other areas within SCDC including Learning Through Doing. 
 
Lucia Dhliwayo – Development Manager
Lucia is part of the project team working on supporting organisations in the use of VOiCE.  She is also currently part of the team of lead officers for the Meeting the Shared Challenge national capacity building programme.  MORE
 
Elspeth Gracey – Development Manager
Elspeth's role within CHEX is to support member organisations of the CHEX Network in issues relating to Practice Development.  This is done through working with networks of community health projects, promoting networking and collaboration with individual projects as well as planning seminars and training events.  During her time at CHEX, Elspeth has also been instrumental in promoting the role of Community Health Initiatives in supporting and enhancing mental wellbeing through a series of national events.  Elspeth participates in national working groups ensuring that the community health sector is influential in policy development.  MORE
 
Paul Nelis – Development Manager
Paul is currently working as part of a team on a number of national programmes including the continued development of VOiCE, the community engagement tool, the new LEAP database, Scottish HLC Alliance and various small contracts.  MORE 
 
Susan Paxton – Development Manager
Susan takes lead responsibility for organising LEAP training and consultancy support, including delivery of the credit-rated LEAP course. She is also responsible for delivering a range of community capacity building and community engagement programmes and is currently one of the lead officers for the Meeting the Shared Challenge programme. Susan also delivers several small consultancy projects across Scotland.  MORE
 
Victoria Muir – Internal Services Manager
Victoria works across SCDC to manage the provision of an effective, efficient, compliant and best practice human resources, facilities and ICT management service.  Victoria works to support the Director in the strategic aims of the organisation.  MORE
 
Olivia Hanley – Information & Communications Officer
Olivia is responsible for info rmation and communications relating to Meeting the Shared Challenge, the national capacity building programme for community-led health.  The main part of her role is to develop ways in which learning from the programme can be shared and disseminated across.
 
Tom Warrington – Information & Communications Officer
Tom is responsible for managing and developing the information systems within CHEX which includes maintaining the CHEX website, database and e-groups and responding to information enquiries.  He is also responsible for the editing and production of both the fortnightly Snippets e-bulletin and quarterly CHEX-Point newsletter and chairs the CHEX-Point Editorial Board. 
 
Lee Goundry – Senior Administrator
Lee is the senior administrator for SCDC and works across all programmes within the centre, including Meeting the Shared Challenge, CHEX, VOiCE and CDAS.  Lee assists the director and the programme teams in the provision of an effective and efficient administrative service for SCDC and the delivery of its programmes.
 

Aileen Skillen – Administrator

Aileen provides administrative support to the CHEX team which includes administration for Health Issues in the Community and the Healthy Living Support Programme.
