Associate Organisations
SCDC works in partnership with associated organisations in Scotland promoting community development principles and practice. Some of these organisations are listed below:
Community Development Alliance Scotland (CDAS)
The Scottish Community Development Alliance is an independent network of the national organisations and agencies that promote good policy and practice relating to community development. It has recently received funding from the Scottish Government (Learning Connections) to help it to develop its activities further. Its activities include providing information about community development and promoting it to a wider public, responding to government consultations, members' meetings to discuss policy and practice issues in depth and public events on major issues. Details can found on the CDAS Website.
Linked Work & Training Trust (LWTT)
Linked Work & Training Trust offers an innovative programme - unique in the United Kingdom - of education and work-based learning with a community development focus. This offers people the opportunity to work in a local community and at the same time to train to degree level in community learning and development.
