Associate Consultants

SCDC core staff work with a team of associates who bring with them a wide range of experience and expertise:

Steve Brown
Steve has extensive experience of working in communities with a wide range of projects and agencies and has particular expertise in equalities, partnership working and qualitative evaluation.  He works with SCDC on a range of national contracts including the VOICE national development programme.

Ann Clark
Ann specialises in cross sectoral working, partnerships, community engagement and public policy.  She has worked with SCDC on the National Standards for Community Engagement Support programme and other projects in the Highlands.  Ann is Director of Clark Consulting and undertakes policy research and evaluations for a wide range of voluntary and statutory sector organisations.  She has extensive experience of working with national and local voluntary organisations, local authorities and other public sector agencies.

Jo Kennedy
Jo is currently working with SCDC on the 'Healthy Communities: Meeting the Shared Challenge' programme as well as other smaller contracts.  Jo has a background in both community care and community development and is particularly interested in making the links across sectors.

Margaret Lindsay
Margaret is currently part of the SCDC team delivering the 'Healthy Communities: Meeting the Shared Challenge' programme.  She has been involved in a range of work including project consultancy and evaluation and has worked extensively on LEAP training and facilitation.

Ian McKenzie
Ian specialises in enabling the growth and development of community based projects and initiatives, inter-sectoral partnership, and facilitating the management of change.  He has worked with SCDC on the Demonstrating the Links Project, in addition to a number of smaller contracts.

Dr Cathy Sharp
Cathy works with SCDC to provide training on action research.  As Director of Research For Real, she provides facilitation, advice and support for social research and evaluation using participatory and action research approaches for a range of statutory and voluntary sector organisations.

Carolyn Stenhouse
Carolyn has worked with SCDC on a range of national contracts including the National Standards for Community Engagement Support Programme. As Director of Avante Consulting, Carolyn has also worked in partnership with SCDC on projects such as testing the framework for Community Learning and Development Outcomes.

Peter Taylor
Peter works with SCDC on a range of research and development projects.  He is the internal evaluator for the 'Healthy Communities: Meeting the Shared Challenge' programme .  He has also worked extensively with CHEX on evidence and support for community-led health activity.  Peter is also the Policy & Development Consultant for the Community Development Alliance Scotland (CDAS), a network that SCDC is part of.
